Hope. Hope is a good thing to have. And hope is a good thing never to let go of. This is a picture from my album Garden Flowers that, years ago, I titled Hope because that was the first sentiment I had when seeing it. Something about it, the softness, the shadows, the light and dark. I saw hope.
I see hope in all artists. And I want to encourage young artists to pick up a paintbrush or pencil long before I did. It was not until midlife that I realized myself to be an artist. There were others in my life that knew it before me, but I thought I needed the product of a painting or a sculpture to be an artist. I have learned much at midlife 🙂
