4th of July is one of my favorite holidays and that’s partially because you don’t have to participate in the fireworks to participate in the celebration. You can simply feel grateful about living in the USA. You can wear a red, white & blue t-shirt, you can have a party or read a book, you can put pinwheels, lights and flags along your sidewalk. There are options. You have freedom. And for a holiday that celebrates freedom, I see it as the freest holiday of all!
This year, I will be @ the annual Rockport Arts Fest. It’s Saturday and Sunday and this time they have an air conditioned tent for artist booths; that’s where I’ll be. On Monday I will be in Houston. If we have met before and you are interested in making an appointment to purchase art please find my card or find my number in your phone, or look for my Instagram (c.s.ellington) and send me a DM. This invitation is only for people I have met before at art events.
I want to thank those who have been reading my correspondence and those who could make it to Galveston in the spring to see me. Wow – that was an energetic and enthusiastic welcome back to Texas. I am enjoying living in Ocean Springs but absolutely adore returning to Texas and reconnecting. Thank you!!
I hope you are feeling peaceful, happy, safe & loved. America’s 250th is both an individual and collective experience. What a remarkable history. I’m guessing you won’t have trouble identifying five or even ten things you are grateful for today, even if one of those is simply the air you are breathing. I encourage you to share one or two of those things with the people in your life this weekend.
I am grateful for you. Thank you for being in my life and for showing up. You are an encouragement and a support along this path I have been called to as a painter.
