meet c.s.ellington

Hello,

welcome to my WordPress blog. I am a contemporary painter of primarily abstract art writing about art and the art of life. I enjoy immensely the travel to events and representing my art in person. It is entirely a delight meeting so many gracious and kind people interested in creative expression.

c.s.ellington is a combination of the names of my children. Much of my life has been devoted to their lives, though new chapters are beginning. I believe in adventure. I believe in love. I believe that each person ultimately knows what they need in life. I have loved listening to my children.

In the writings on my blog, I want to include stories. I have many. I remember being in my early twenties and spending quite a lot of time with my maternal grandmother, Lola, and listening to her stories. There was an endless supply. I sat for hours at a time taking the stories in. I enjoyed her company so very much and admired the life she had built. I wanted something like that, I wanted more stories. About thirty years later, I have them. And the confidence in myself to write out anything I wish. Thanks for sharing your life with me by being here.

There were times in my twenties and thirties I was an unusually private person. I am not so much that way, anymore. I started asking myself who I was sharing my life with, who I was allowing to have access into my life. I decided I wanted to grow to become a more full person and be available to a greater degree in relationships. The thinking evolved and the path appeared. I am happy you are here.

Smiles ~

  1. I had the pleasure of meeting Camille at her space in front of my store on the McKinney square during the 2017 Arts In Bloom event. She gifted me one of her paintings which made its way to my house on Cape Cod. I look at it so often, as do our houseguests, and I feel so honored to share the beauty of Camille’s work through this one treasured piece. Thank you Camille, for sharing your gift and yourself with those of us who truly appreciate your story and your talent. Patty Streber

    • Patty, your comment was a surprise on the day it arrived but not a surprise to me at all because of who I know you to be! So kind. Thank you! I look forward to seeing you again!

    • Harold, it was certainly a highlight of Breckenridge to meet you and also the small artist gathering we made @ Fireside Inn. I will be looking for you at events in 2019!

  4. Camille it was a pleasure meeting you and your daughter at the Anderson Art Festival in Ocean Springs today. Your paintings are very peaceful and inspiring with a contemporary edge that catches your eye.
I spotted them immediately upon arrival and could not end the day without taking time to stop by to meet the artist. Look forward to owning one of your master pieces in the very near future. Wanda Holly (MS) 11/8/20
